Introduction
Lambeth is full of surprises, from world class attractions, such as the London Eye and the London Aquarium, to some of Lambeth's lesser known hidden gems such as Windmill Gardens, the Museum of Garden History and the historic Carnegie Library.
The north of the borough is bounded by the River Thames and is home to the London Eye and Waterloo station. The South Bank complex is the most visible element of a thriving and expanding arts and leisure industry in Lambeth, and is home to internationally known theatres such as the Old Vic, the National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall and the British Film Institute.
The central part of the borough extends from the Oval in the north (with the Oval Cricket Ground) to Clapham Common and Brockwell Park in the south. It contains the borough's largest shopping centre in Brixton as well as attractions such as the Carling Academy and the Ritzy cinema.
In the South of the borough, Streatham and Norwood are home to several large parks such as Norwood Park, Streatham Common and the Rookery as well as libraries and leisure facilities.
Whatever your interests, Lambeth has something for you and the borough Is yours to explore.
